Eurisy, the European association of Space Agency together with the European Union Agency for the Space Programme EUSPA and the Belgian Science Policy Office BELSPO, are joining forces to promote European and national space capabilities to support decision makers as well as field operators to address all the phases of a disaster.
 
The event aims at raising awareness of the possibilities offered by the EU Space Programme in disaster risk management and to provide an opportunity for stakeholders to meet, discuss and exchange about best practices and specific needs. 
 
The event will gather relevant actors from both space and other domains (civil protection, insurance, agriculture, etc.) to discuss how space data can contribute to the management of disasters. It will consist of a high-level policy panel, featuring national, international, and EU decision-makers and policy experts, a panel highlighting and demonstrating service providers’ applications for disaster risk management, as well as a panel discussing end user’s needs.
